K9 Casa (formally Camp Bow Wow)

Why Choose K9 Casa?

Here are just a few reasons why our Doggie Daycare might be the answer you and your dogs have been dreaming of:

* Your pups will get exercise, exercise and more exercise
* You deserve a worry free day
* There’ll be no more “surprises” when you get home
* Dogs are social and need companions
* Your pets will come home “dog tired”
* It’s fun!

Your dogs will spend the day playing and relaxing in our beautiful local facility. We offer plenty of thickly padded floorspace, which helps prevent joint pain and arthritis problems in both younger pups and our older friends.

Your dogs’ well being is of our primary concern, and we believe all pets deserve a little luxury in their lives. Your dogs will be safe with us. Our clients are pampered and supervised at all times, and are never out of sight of our counselors. We allow a maximum of only twenty dogs per day, which means you can be certain that your pets will get personalized care.

Each and every time your dogs come in to K9 Casa, they’re greeted by friendly and familiar faces. We make it a priority to learn as much as we can about the individual likes and dislikes of every dog we see.

If you’re still unconvinced, come by and visit our climate controlled (at a constant 70 degrees) facility. We’re sure you’ll be impressed.

Whether you’re going on a vacation, traveling on business trip, or merely in need of a quiet weekend away, we provide the solution you need.

Our Requirements:
For your protection, all clients are screened prior to acceptance. Your dog must be at least 5 months of age, current on all shots, and spayed or neutered. Call today for your free evaluation.

Our hours of operation are 7 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. We offer weekend care by appointment only.

We now offer Doggie Slumber Parties seven days a week.

Your dog’s home away from home!

You supply the pup and we supply the love . . .A typical day at K9 Casa begins at 7:00 in the morning. If your dogs have attended the previous night’s slumber party, they’ll be first to arrive. These special guests are, of course, very helpful to the opening up process. As the day progresses and more visitors appear, the early arrivals serve as the welcoming committee. After all, we all know how important it is for our clients to sniff, circle, and get to know each other.Let the Party Begin!

Once all the introductions have been completed, it’s PARTY TIME! Party time is an ongoing affair, though nearly all our guests will take a few minutes for a catnap (not that we’d never call it that here!). We provide space for them to romp or rest, and an environment safe for both playing and relaxation.

After a day of heavy play, our guests start getting ready to be picked up by their family. All of our daycare guests are gone by 6:30.

Once the daycare clients have left for their homes, the slumber party preparations begin. We make sure that one of our counselors has left early in order to prepare the Chateau for the evening guests. By the time these lucky dogs arrive, their dinner is waiting.

After a hearty meal, our guests are treated to playtime on the patio and a bounce around the backyard. The night winds down with the group flopping on the floor for an hour or so of “Animal Planet.” Lights are out at 10:00, and at 5:30 the next morning we’ll get up and start all over again.

If your dogs are weekend guests, they’ll spend their stay lounging and playing in our generous backyard.

Our slumber parties are an incredible deal: you’ll get all this for only $40 a night, which includes a full day of care at K9 Casa. We guarantee your dogs will love us.

Choosing a Doggie Daycare

The primary objectives for any doggie day care you consider should be socialization and exercise for your animal. Dogs are pack animals and while you are the leader of your pack, it is not physically possible for a human to play and exercise a dog as extensively as another canine. Your dog should be pleasantly exhausted at the end of a play day; there will be much less destructive behavior if the dog’s energy has a proper and safe outlet.

PHYSICAL LOGISTICS

  • What is the general layout of the facility? Is it Indoor/Outdoor?
  • How clean is the facility?
  • Can you observe all the areas in which your dog will be playing?
  • What are the safety barriers to prevent accidental escapes?
  • How large is the area in which the dogs will play; are there selected areas for animals of varying size, and for “time-outs” or nap time?
  • On what sort of surface will the dogs play? Is there “give” or cushion to the surface?
  • Does the DDC have a city permit to operate an animal facility?
  • Is there a separate potty area, and if so, how often is it cleaned?
  • What sorts of toys are provided, and how often are they cleaned?
  • Does the facility have climate control?
  • What are the hours of the facility?
  • Are you charged a daily or hourly rate?
  • Is there a late pick-up charge?
  • Are reservations required for the DDC?
  • What are the rules for picking up and dropping off your dogs?
  • Is training offered as part of the day care?
  • Are the dogs supervised 100% of the time by experienced personnel?
  • What is the facility’s policies on animals injured at the day care facility?

COMFORT FEATURES

  • What steps, if any, are taken to prevent barking? (Nuisance barking is probably the #1 complaint about dogs.)
  • What are the criteria for allowing an animal to participate in the DDC? (I.E Temperaments tests, proof of up-to-date vaccinations, flea/tick control)
  • Are unaltered animals allowed in the DDC?
  • How is fresh water provided?
  • How many employees are at the DDC? It is not possible for a large staff to get to know your dog and its habits, and vice versa.
  • What is the motivation of the employees? Are they dog owners?
  • How closely are the dogs monitored?
  • Is there an odor when you walk in? (Doggie smells are ok but not other odors)

HUMAN EMOTIONS

Is the facility truly functional for the dogs, or it is more geared to be “eye candy” for the owners? Canine needs and human needs differ. Much marketing is aimed towards what we think the humans will respond to, rather than what the dog really requires.

What is the ratio of human interaction to dog interaction your animal will experience during the day?

Dogs are wonderful, loyal members of our families. Please choose a doggie day care with the same thoughtfulness you would use in selecting a babysitter or school for your children.

What is a Slumber Party?

Just imagine: after an incredible day at K9 Casa, we’ll bundle up your dogs and whisk them away to Chateau Bow Wow, where they’ll immediately become part of a loving family in a warm and welcoming home.

Just imagine: at Chateau Bow Wow, we have no kennel runs or chainlink fences; instead, we offer constant, caring companionship. Our guests are never left unattended. From the minute they walk through the front door until the moment they leave, they’re under constant supervision. We do ask that our clients be crate trained for night-time sleeping. This way, they’re able to nap the night away in our very own bedrooms.

Just imagine: you can enjoy any trip, knowing your dog is in good hands. After all, we both know that your pet deserves the best.
Requirements:

  • Pick-ups are seven days a week. Sorry but weekend dropoffs are not allowed.
  • All dogs must spend at least one day at K9 Casa prior to making slumber party arrangements.
  • We charge a mere $40 per night, a cost that includes the daycare rate.
  • Slumber parties are offered to small (cocker spaniel size and smaller) due to space limitations.

Cosmetic Tooth Cleaning for your Dog!

K9 Casa is pleased to offer Cosmetic Tooth Cleaning Service at it’s location. This event happens every third Saturday of the month.

Cleaning your pet’s teeth is vital to their health. Neglecting their teeth is linked to causing all types of internal disorders, from Heart, Liver and Kidney diseases. Clean teeth will help minimize veterinary bills and maximize your pet’s health! Your pet will feel much better and their breath will improve too.

Absolutely NO DRUGS are used on your pet and the technique is gentle and safe.

Before After

In this before picture, you can see plaque on most of the teeth, with a very heavy build up in the on the back molars. The plaque build up has caused irritation to the soft tissue of the gums & lining of the mouth.   In this drastic after picture, you can clearly see the difference. The back canine molar can actually be seen and the teeth look whiter then ever before!

Canine Care, Inc, a company located in Southern California has provided anesthesia-free teeth cleaning for dogs and cats sine 1980. Many veterinarians in that area have been referring pets to them. There are also numerous magazine and newspaper articles written about their special service. They have expanded to Northern California. If you have questions regarding the safety and efficiency of this service please call 408-972-8086.

Mickey’s Corner

Hey everyone, in case you haven’t been officially introduced, about 2 years, my mama found me a new little brother, Bentley.

Bentley is a Brussels Griffon, and is almost 4 years old. I am trying to teach him the ropes at K9 Casa, such as how to do the meet & greet and of course how to keep other dogs in line. Even though Bentley started life in another family and misses them alot, he is happy at his new home and he loves his new mama. He follows her EVERYWHERE. But don’t worry, I am still cuter then Bentley, and I get alot more treats too *grin*And don’t forget, the next Cosmetic teeth cleaning is the third Saturday every month at K9 Casa. It is completely safe and uses no medications! A few months ago my momma had my teeth cosmetically cleaned by these nice people. Not only are my teeth clean, but my breath smells soooo much better! Now my momma lets me give her more kisses! My momma also had my brothers Rusty, Bentley and Busters’ teeth cleaned also. Call now and sign up for the next cleaning.

In 2004 we were voted BEST DAYCARE FACILITY by “The Wave” Magazine! you can read it below or click to read the actual web review!

“When it comes to daycare for your young loved ones, it isn’t easy to find a facility that limits group size to 20, makes exercise a regular component in the curriculum and handles any bathroom accidents, no questions asked. Which is why it’s such a shame that K9 Casa only accepts canines into their program. Dogs lucky enough to spend a day at the resort are treated to outdoor playtime, television time (Animal Planet only) and, of course, nap time. And the cost? Only $25 per day when multiple classes are purchased.”

In 2006 and 2007 we were voted the BEST Doggie Day Care in Silicon Valley.
